Becoming a parent can feel like starting again.

Whether it’s your first time or you’re adding to a growing family there’s no doubt bringing a baby into the world is a magical time that also comes with its own unique set of challenges.

As a mother of two, I understand the reality of becoming a parent and all that comes with it. With over 20 years of experience working with expecting parents and newborn babies, I know how the right words and actions can make the biggest difference.

My mission is to educate and empower families with care and compassion at every step - nurturing you and your baby’s needs so you can confidently navigate the path to parenthood.

Hi, I’m Nicky,

Some people know what to do in life from a young age. Others might need to try a few different jobs to figure it out. For me, the answer came unexpectedly when my niece was born.

I was 21 at the time, and from the first moment I held her, I instinctively knew what to do. I was able to respond intuitively to my niece's and my sister's needs as if I’d been doing it all my life. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but I knew I needed to work in a caring role with babies.

Starting my career as a Nanny, I soon realised that parents deserved just as much support. This led me to continue my training to complete a diploma in Antenatal Education and become a birth and postpartum doula.

I’m also a member of the Doula Association of Ireland (DAI), registered with the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT), garda vetted and fully insured.

In addition to my work as an Antenatal teacher and Doula, I volunteer with Cuidiu, an Irish charity that provides education and support to parents nationwide. A role that gives me so much joy.

Over the past twenty years, the most important training I received has been working with families at all stages of their parenting journey. To this day, the biggest reward is seeing parents confidently learn to listen to themselves and act on gut instinct, trusting they know what their baby needs.

Every day, I’m lucky to be involved in some of the most intimate moments a family can experience. It truly is a privilege, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey!

"Going to Nicky's class was the single best thing I did during pregnancy..."

...to make me feel prepared to know what to expect during birth.
Attending Nicky's class helped me realize there aren't any silly questions and other parents have the same ones and also questions I hadn't thought of but found helpful too. All births are different and I don't think you can ever be fully prepared for what to expect, especially the first time, however as Nicky stated 'this is your birth story' and with the knowledge and confidence I gained from her class, I felt a lot better that i knew as much as possible how I wanted my story to go.
